Provincial Women’s Football Set for Epade

The Sports Secretariat is conducting tryouts for womenS soccer, aiming to form a team for the Epade Games, scheduled for May 15-18 in La Pampa.
Evaluations began Tuesday, with stops in Villa Regina, General Roca, adn cipolletti. Approximately 150 players were observed.
On Wednesday, players from Bariloche will train at 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Stadium. A similar session will be held Thursday at the municipal court of El Bolsón,also at 11:30 a.m.Around 70 young athletes are expected to participate.
Next week, evaluations are scheduled at the Sportsman Club de Choele Choel on Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. On Thursday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m., the activity will move to the Municipal Sports Center of san Antonio Oeste.
In the previous Patagonian competition, the provincial women’s team finished third in 2023 and won the championship in 2022. The competition was not held in 2024.

The Executive General Council of the Patagonian Sports Entity (EPADE) met in Rawson in January and decided to unify the Epade Games and Patagonian integration games under a new format.
The calendar has been modified to distribute disciplines across the six provinces on two specific dates, aiming to reduce costs for each host city.
The South Zone, comprising Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, and Chubut, will compete from April 22-25. The North Zone, including Río Negro, Neuquén, and La Pampa, will compete from May 15-18.
Tierra del Fuego will host Olympic wrestling, taekwondo, and olympic weightlifting. Santa Cruz will host volleyball (men’s and women’s),table tennis,para table tennis,and sports climbing. Chubut will host athletics, basketball (men’s and women’s), and boccia.
In the North Zone, Río Negro will host mountain biking, judo, archery, para archery, badminton, para badminton, and 3×3 wheelchair basketball. Neuquén will host para swimming,para athletics,and artistic gymnastics. La Pampa will host swimming, soccer (men’s and women’s), and tennis.
Meeting minutes indicate an increase in the number of soccer players per team from 18 to 21. A change in competition format is proposed for volleyball and basketball to a round-robin style.
Additionally, athletes with disabilities cannot compete in both swimming and athletics. Age restrictions have been adjusted for some sports, including climbing and basketball.
