Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hideaki Nishino recently addressed PlayStation’s hardware strategy, stating that “the future of the platform is top of mind.” While Nishino didn’t reveal specific details about the PlayStation 6, he said the company is exploring “a new and enhanced way for players to engage” with PlayStation content and services. Documents from 2022 suggest Sony’s next console is not expected before fall 2028.
Xbox also made waves with an announcement from Xbox President Sarah Bond. xbox is partnering with AMD to co-engineer chips for future devices, including next-generation Xbox consoles. the goal is to deliver advanced graphics, enhanced visual quality, and immersive gameplay through AI, while maintaining compatibility with existing Xbox games.
