Pttep is finding more gas from Malaysia’s SK410B project

Montri Lawanchaikul Mr CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Company or PTTEP (PTTEP) disclosed that PTTEP subsidiary is PTTEP HK Offshore Company Limited or PT TEP HKO started drilling the Paprika-1 exploration well in Malaysia project SK410B in July. 2022, where natural gas was discovered in sedimentary rocks at a depth of 3,348 meters, marking the second natural gas field discovery in the said project Tronas Charikali discovered the Lang Lebah field, a large natural gas field in the same project.

“The Paprika-1 exploration well is PTTEP’s first exploration well in Malaysia this year. We have discovered high quality natural gas fields that have the potential to be co-developed with neighboring fields. North of offshore Sarawak (Northern Sarawak Clastic Hub), which will greatly increase operational efficiency. This success is the result of the collaboration of a group of venture capitalists. including detailed analysis of geological structures to find new sources of petroleum in the fields,” said Mr Montree.

The Malaysian SK410B project is about 90 kilometers off the coast of Miri, Sarawak and adjacent to the Malaysian SK417 project, where PTTEP discovered natural gas fields last year. which in the future can use different production equipment together

The Malaysia SK410B Joint Venture consists of PTTEP HKO holding 42.5% and the operator, Kuwait Petroleum Malaysia (SK-410B) or KUFPEC holding 42.5% and Petronas Charikali (PCSB) holding a 15% stake.

In addition to the Malaysian project SK 410B, PTTEP has investments in Malaysia in several projects, namely SK 405B, SK 438, SK 314A, SK 417, PN. M 407, PM 415 and SB 412, all of which are in the survey range. The projects in production are Block K, SK309, SK311, the Rotan-Buluh field in block H, and the Thailand-Malaysia Joint Development Area with PC JDA.
