Pulse polio drops were given to 3,07,163 children in the district on Sunday. The health department aims to provide drops to 4,55,142 children. Sixty-seven percent of children were vaccinated at booths. The district medical officer said those who could not be vaccinated from the booths would be vaccinated at home from Monday.
P Ubaidullah MLA inaugurated the district level distribution of drops at Malappuram Taluk Hospital. Municipal Chairman Mujeeb Kateri presided over the function. Collector VR Premkumar, District Medical Officer R Renuka, Health Kerala District Program Manager Dr. TN Anoop, Siddique Noorengal, Dr. K Muhammad Ismail, Dr. A. Shibulal, Dr. Aligarh Babu, P Raju, Muhammad Fazal, M Anilkumar, TR Geeta and ER Divya spoke on the occasion.
