Putin Accuses Western Nations of Spreading Conflict at Victory Day Parade

President Vladimir Putin of Russia presided over the celebratory military parade. “Victory Day” May 9, which falls on the day the Soviet Union defeated the Nazi army during World War II, and said Western nations were causing the conflict to spread around the world. But he will never allow anyone to threaten Russia.

Putin also accused Western leaders of being “arrogant” and forgetting the role of the Soviet Union in defeating the Nazis.

“We know what such ambitions will lead to. Russia will do everything possible to prevent the conflict from spreading around the world,” Putin said at a military parade held on Red Square in central Moscow. Among the snow that falls during the month of May

“But at the same time We won’t let anyone scare us. Our strategic forces are always in a state of readiness.”

Putin sent troops to invade Ukraine on February 24, 2022, claiming it was a fight against Western threats that have dogged Russia since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 in an attempt to encroach on Russia’s growing sphere of influence.

On the other hand, the Kiev government and the West accuse Russia of intending to seize neighboring territory by force, unlike colonialists. and announced that he would surrender to Moscow He now controls about 18% of Ukraine’s territory, including Crimea and four regions in eastern Ukraine.

Russia said that these territories were formerly part of the Russian Empire. and has now been “annexed” back to be part of Russia.

The Soviet Union lost 27 million people as a result of World War II, including millions in Ukraine. But in the end they managed to push the Nazi army back to Berlin. It led to the suicide of Adolf Hitler and the raising of the Soviet flag above the Reichstag parliament building in 1945.

“The West wants to forget the lessons of the Second World War,” Putin said, adding that Russia praised all allies who played a role in defeating Nazi Germany. He also mentions that “China” used to oppose Japanese militarism.

The unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany took place at 11:01 pm on May 8, 1945, designated by the French, British and American governments as “Victory in Europe Day” while Moscow at that time was already starting a new day. Therefore, May 9 is considered the Victory Day of the Soviet Union.

This year’s Russian military parade ceremony is considered to have been somewhat curtailed due to the state of war. Only one T-34 tank was on display and a squadron of Air Force planes released blue, red and white smoke in the colors of the Russian flag over Moscow.

However, Russia also brought its strategic Yars intercontinental ballistic missile to the parade. which a Russian TV news anchor described as “Has the potential to reliably attack any target on the planet.”

The only foreign guests who attended the ceremony were leaders from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Laos and Guinea-Bissau. But there is no shadow of Western leaders.
