Teh UK Prime Minister will not attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, due to scheduling demands, according to Chief secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones. Speaking to Sky News, Jones explained that the Prime Minister has “lots of challenges on his time,” while the Chancellor and Business Secretary are representing the UK at the forum, which focuses on economic and business investment.
This comes as former US President Donald Trump has been actively posting on social media regarding international affairs. French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly offered Trump a G7 meeting following the Davos gathering, a message Trump shared publicly.
Jones also addressed Trump’s recent threats of tariffs, expressing hope they would not escalate to the point of the US attempting to acquire Greenland. When asked about the possibility on Times Radio, Jones stated, “Look, I hope not.”
