Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi-do announced on the 5th that the Pyeongtaek Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, which is being operated by Pyeongtaek YMCA, recently conducted counseling training for professional counselors in the Pyeongtaek area.

Recently, adolescent mental health problems have been intensifying, and high-level adolescents complaining of suicide/self-harm problems need highly specialized counseling.

This training was attended by 42 counselors and counselors from 6 youth-related organizations and 19 elementary, middle and high schools.

A school teacher who participated in the training said, “It was a time to learn specific procedures for suicide crisis intervention and counseling methods.”

Oh Seok-yeon, director of the Pyeongtaek City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, said, “I hope that this training will provide an opportunity to understand and professionally intervene with youth who complain of suicide and self-harm.”
