Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to build the ship in September last year. Necessary tests and training will be completed within the next two years. Anadolu has already built eight warships of the same model for the Turkish Navy. Rifat Adilhan, CEO of the company, said that Qatar was building two more warships.

Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Hassan Al Sulaiti, Commander of the Qatar Navy, received the ship during a proud ceremony in Turkey yesterday. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Commander of the Turkish Navy, Adnan Osbal. The weapons, including guns for the ship, were made by the Turkish Defense Forces.
