Quake FPS game on Apple Watch?
A video of the game Quake, released in 1996, being transferred to Apple Watch and actually playing has been released, attracting attention.
If you look at the video, when you start Quake on the Apple Watch screen, the action buttons are placed at the bottom of the screen. By turning the digital crown corresponding to the watch crown, the nose angle is changed, and the nose can also be pointed at the floor or ceiling. Tap to advance and you can hear gunshots and footsteps right through the Apple Watch speaker. In addition, it can move or change direction by detecting tilt through the Apple Watch gyro sensor. Not only did it start, but it was ported properly so that the game was playable as well.
FYI, quake_watch for Apple Watch is open source and released on GitHub, so it’s possible to build it yourself if you have a Mac and Xcode. The developer said it has been confirmed to work on Apple Watch Series 5 with watchOS 8.6. Relevant information can be found here.
