Rachin Ravindra emerged as the star of the show, smashing a magnificent century off just 95 deliveries. His explosive innings comprised of 15 fours and a six, leaving the opposition in awe. Ravindra was eventually caught by Saud Shakeel off Mohammad Wasim after scoring an impressive 108 runs.

Williamson’s Resplendent Return

Captain Kane Williamson, who had returned to the team, showcased his exceptional skills by notching up a brilliant half-century. Scoring 95 runs off 79 balls, Williamson’s innings included two sixes and 10 fours. He was caught by Fakhar Zaman off Iftikhar Ahmad, highlighting the resilience and determination he displayed during his time at the crease.

The astounding partnership between Ravindra and Williamson saw them pile up a mammoth 180 runs off 142 balls for the second wicket, placing New Zealand in a commanding position.

Supporting Cast Shines

The stellar performance from the New Zealand team extended beyond their top order batsmen. Eglan Phillips (41 off 25 balls), opener Devon Conway (35 off 39 balls), Darryl Mitchell (29 off 18 balls), Mark Chapman (39 off 27 balls), and Mitchell Santner (26 not out off 17 balls) all contributed with significant runs, providing valuable support to their team’s massive score.

Pakistan’s Wicket-takers

Mohammad Wasim was the standout performer for Pakistan, taking three crucial wickets. Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmad, and Haris Rauf also managed to claim one wicket each, but their efforts couldn’t prevent the Kiwis from posting a record-breaking total.

Both of them scored 180 runs off 142 balls for the second wicket.
