Rainy Weekends and Sizzling Weekdays: The Unpredictable Dance of Late Summer Weather
Understanding Baekro: The Third Solar Term of Autumn
Baekro, the third solar term of autumn, signifies the formation of white dew on grass leaves and objects. This phenomenon marks the beginning of fall, but the weather still feels like summer.
The Tibetan high pressure system, located to the west of our country, blocks cold air from the north, causing the heat to persist. As a result, temperatures will remain above average for the time being.
During the day, when sunlight is strong, the perceived temperature will rise to 31 to 33 degrees Celsius, making it feel hot. However, cloudy skies are expected over the weekend, with showers predicted in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
Rain showers of 5 to 40 mm are expected to fall from Saturday morning to night, with some areas experiencing heavy rain of up to 20mm per hour, accompanied by thunder and lightning. On Sunday, showers of 5 to 20 mm are expected between morning and evening.
Although the amount of rain is small, the temperature is not expected to drop easily. Our region will be on the edge of a high-pressure front moving south from northern China until the day after tomorrow.
It is recommended to bring an umbrella as rain showers are expected throughout the weekend. The UV index is expected to be at the ‘high to very high’ level, and fine dust is expected to be at the ‘good’ level.
A detailed look at temperatures reveals that morning temperatures in Daegu and Pohang will start at 24 degrees, and Andong at 22 degrees. By noon, temperatures will be higher than average at 32 degrees in Daegu, 31 degrees in Andong, and 29 degrees in Pohang.
The hot weather is expected to continue until early next week. Next week, the daily temperature range is expected to gradually increase, returning to the average for this time of year.
