Rajasthan will take them out before next season
The Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2022 was a dream come true. Under captain Sanju Samson and coach Kumar Sangakkara, the leap continued into the final.
Despite losing to the Gujarat Titans in the final, Rajasthan bid farewell to the season.
Most of the players in the team had fielded 100 per cent for Rajasthan. But some players failed to live up to the expectations of the team or the fans.
When the Rajasthan Royals team is restructured ahead of the upcoming season, many such players may be left out. Three such players are likely to be left out of Rajasthan.
Jimmy Neesham
This season with the Rajasthan Royals has not been so good for New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham. Most of the time, the player was on the bench.
Neesham has played only two matches for Rajasthan this season. He scored 31 runs at the lowest strike rate.
With pacers like the famous Krishna, Bolt and McCoy all around the team and a finisher like Hetmeyer, the team will have to think again and again about keeping Neesham.
Daryl Mitchell
Mitchell’s performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup brought him to Rajasthan. Mitchell joined the team with high hopes for his first IPL. But the setback was that the star failed to live up to that expectation.
Mitchell, who played two matches for Rajasthan, scored just 33 runs at 75 strikeouts. Mitchell left the team in the final stages of the tournament and joined the New Zealand team against England. With this, the management has to think twice about the player.
South African Van der Dusson is also likely to be included in the squad if Mitchell does not live up to expectations.
Navdeep Saini
Rajasthan brought the young pacer to the team for Rs 2.6 crore. The player, who was brought to the team with high hopes, was able to play only two matches.
In the first match, he took 2 wickets for 36 runs, but in the second match, he took only one wicket for 36 runs in 3 overs.
While the famous Krishna, Bolt and McCoy are likely to retain their place, Saini may also be left out of the team.
