Rajya Sabha candidate; KPCC shocked by High Command’s unleashing; Seat aspirants in despair | Kerala | Deshabhimani

Thiruvananthapuram
The dramatic move by the High Command to field a candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat while eyeing the Congress. Priyanka Gandhi’s confidante Srinivasan Krishnan’s name was unexpectedly suggested from Delhi amid mounting pressure from senior leaders including KV Thomas, MM Hassan, youth like M Liju and VT Balaram and party leader CP John. The proposal to add a new name came after KPCC president K Sudhakaran returned with M Liju to meet Rahul Gandhi.

If Srinivasan Krishnan’s name is included in the list from the state, he is sure to win the lottery. Srinivasan Krishnan, who is close to AICC leaders, has already worked for the Indian Information Service. In 1995, when K Karunakaran was the Union Industries Minister, he was a PA.

It has been reported that Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, Robert Vadra’s business partner, is a 57 – year – old businessman from Thrissur. When Srinivasan was made the AICC secretary, VM Sudheeran disagreed. The KPCC leadership is fielding M Liju as its Rajya Sabha candidate. Opposition leader VD Satheesan has suggested that Ramesh Chennithala’s loyalist Liju should be retaliated against. Satheesan is interested in Satheesan Pacheni, VT Balaram and Shanimol Usman.

K Sudhakaran continues to put pressure on Liju even after the High Command suggested a new name. The feeling is that other leaders in the state will not accept the tied candidate.
