Rallying for Inclusion: Chungbuk Badminton Harmony Sports Competition Unites Developmentally Disabled Athletes
The Chungbuk Badminton Harmony Sports Competition for the Developmentally Disabled was held in Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do on the 11th. This competition was hosted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Sports Association for the Developmentally Disabled (Chairman Kim Young-soo) and sponsored by Jeungpyeong-gun (Governor Kim Hak-su) for the purpose of improving the health and social participation of people with developmental disabilities.
About 100 people with developmental disabilities from the Chungbuk region participated in the competition and competed in a variety of events, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
Chairman Kim Young-soo said, “Through this competition, we wanted to provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to lead healthy lives and actively participate in society.”
County Governor Kim Hak-su said, “Jeungpyeong-gun is continuously working to improve the welfare of people with developmental disabilities, and we hope that this competition will contribute to the health and happiness of people with developmental disabilities.”
