Kei Nishikori Meets Talent Chisato Sakashita at Ariake Tennis Court
Talent Chisato Sakashita recently updated her Instagram with an exciting encounter with Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori at a tennis court in Ariake.
Nishikori, 34 years old and formerly ranked world No. 4, has been actively competing in recent tournaments. Two weeks ago, he reached the quarterfinals at the Como Challenger (Italy/Como, clay, ATP Challenger) and last week at the AON Open Challenger (Italy/Genova, clay, ATP Challenger).
Upon returning to Japan, Nishikori is set to represent Japan in the Davis Cup World Group Division 1 match against Colombia, a men’s tennis international team competition to be held in Ariake, Japan on the 14th and 15th. He will be joined by Yoshihito Nishioka, Taro Daniel, Shintaro Mochizuki, and Yosuke Watanuki.
Sakashita revealed on social media that she encountered Nishikori at Ariake, the venue for the Davis Cup, and shared her experience along with a photo.
“Is this… reality? It still feels like a dream…!!” Sakashita exclaimed. “I was enjoying women’s doubles at Ariake when Kei Nishikori came to practice on the court next to me! It was like a boom! It was an amazing sound! I thought it would be a dream come true to see Nishikori play live, but I never expected to meet him on the court next to me.”
Sakashita also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to take a photo with Nishikori and announced her plans to cheer him on at the Davis Cup. “Thank you for taking a photo of Nishikori! I’m going to the D-Cup to cheer him on! Fight for the Japanese team!”
