Rancagua’s Blazing New Benchmark: 8th Fire Company Unveils Cutting-Edge Fire Station
With an investment of more than 1,700 million pesos and financed through the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR), the facilities of the Eighth Fire Company were provided as operational facilities, improving response times to emergency calls for the southwestern area of the commune. Rancagua.
The regional governor, Pablo Silva Amaya, said that the southwest sector of the city expects this headquarters of the 8th Rancagua Company, with an investment of almost 1.8 billion pesos, as the commitment of the Regional Council to the Chilean Firefighters, and especially, from the O’Higgins region.
Silva Amaya noted that this project was built in record time, because according to him, the previous process took more time than the construction of these modern quality facilities, thanks to the collaborative work with the Fire Department and the Ministry of Public Works.
The regional president announced that after this headquarters of the Fire Department, they will devote themselves to work with the Police Station of the Poniente sector, the Cesfam crossing and the Republic of Chile.

His experience as a firefighter for 25 years brings joy to the presidential representative, Fabio López Aguilera, who showed his satisfaction with the way the Chilean Firefighters are developing and especially such a new company, which has ‘to plan together with the management of Architecture and Firefighters of Chile, which is also funded by the FNDR.
“Doubly happy for the progress of the eighth Company and also as a firefighter, one cannot separate one’s heart from that,” said the president’s representative.
For his part, the mayor of Rancagua, Emerson Avendaño, highlighted the importance of introducing this new Firefighters headquarters, which became a desire for the residents of the Poniente-Sur sector of the capital, which has experienced a 37% growth in its population and that has required a series of services from the State.
“The eighth Company has already established itself in the sector in 2018 and has evolved in an excellent way, with first class facilities and it is something that makes us happy and an example for development all public works,” Avendaño drew .
The Seremi of Public Works, María de Los Ángeles Latorre, showed her satisfaction to have presented this modern building, with the best quality, to the eighth Rancagua Fire Company through the Department of Architecture.
“We are very happy and that is part of the collaborative work (…) and today we have this fruit that we hope the Chilean Fire Fighters will enjoy and put at the service of the community,” Latorre noted.
Finally, Raúl Montesinos Reveco, superintendent of the Rancagua Fire Department, said that this is a double pride, because it is a sector of tremendous expansion and potential growth in height, which benefits the community of the Southwest sector of the city.
