Hefei, September 16 (Xinhua) — The Ministry of Civil Aviation of China revealed that the number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) registered for civilian use has shown a significant increase. According to the latest data presented at the Low Altitude Economic Development Conference (LAEC) 2023 in Wuhu, the total number of UAVs registered with real names has already surpassed 1.11 million by the end of August. This marks a notable growth of 15.9 percent since the conclusion of 2022.

The statistics released on September 15 indicated that in August alone, 182,000 UAV licenses were issued, demonstrating the continued expansion of the UAV industry in China. Moreover, the accumulated flight hours recorded from January to August exceeded a substantial 16.8 million hours.

Low Altitude Economic Development Conference

The LAEC 2023, held in Wuhu, Anhui province, aims to serve as a prominent platform for deliberating the future direction and development path of the low altitude economy. The conference also looks to facilitate widespread industrial cooperation and collaboration.
