A poisonous snake with two heads on one body was discovered in Japan, making it a hot topic.

According to Japan’s RKB Mainichi News on the 8th, around 2 pm on the 4th, a man who was climbing a mountain in Hachimanishi-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, discovered a snake with two heads in a corner of the hiking trail. This snake has patterns of brown spots and is about 20 cm long. At the time of discovery, he was already dead.

The man remembered, “The snake did not move,” and “When I came, I saw that two heads were attached to it.” He decided to donate the snake’s body to a local museum, and it is currently kept at the Inochinotabi Museum in Hachiman Nishi Ward.

As a result of the analysis, it was found that the snake found this time is a viper that lives throughout Japan and is 6 to 7 months old. Vipers are a type of poisonous snake and cannot be sold in Japan.

According to reptile experts, the chance of seeing a two-headed lion carcass is close to miraculous. This is because the probability of a two-headed lion being born is extremely low, and even if it is, the dead body is quickly eaten by crows and wild animals.

Additionally, the average lifespan of a snake is 15 to 20 years, but most two-headed snakes are said to fail to grow and die as soon as they are born. A python breeder in Fukuoka said, “About 10 years ago, a two-headed snake was born from a crossbred snake, but it died after 2 to 3 months.”

The museum says it plans to unveil the newly discovered two-headed viper carcass to the public sometime this summer.
