Hulk Hogan’s Real American Freestyle Wrestling to Debut in Cleveland

Real American Freestyle, the new freestyle wrestling organization backed by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, will launch its inaugural event on August 30 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Tickets go on sale today, june 18, via the Real American Freestyle website and Ticketmaster. A portion of each ticket sale will benefit Cleveland State University.
the Wolstein Center, known for its wrestling history, including hosting NCAA Division I National championships, was chosen as the ideal venue. Organizers say Ohio’s strong wrestling legacy makes it a perfect location for the event. Real American Freestyle aims to provide a dynamic and modern approach to freestyle wrestling, showcasing top athletes in nine-minute matches designed for high impact.
The event will feature eight weight classes for men, with eight matches, and four weight classes for women. Wrestlers will have the chance to win championship purses and bonuses, adhering to NCAA regulations.
Chad Bronstein, co-founder of Real American Freestyle, emphasized the connection to Cleveland. “I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, and know the love and dedication the community has for wrestling,” Bronstein said. “We’re excited to partner with the wolstein Center, provide world-class entertainment to the masses, and launch a professional freestyle event in the city to inspire the next generation of athletes in the sport.”
Hogan, commissioner of Real American Freestyle, echoed the sentiment. ”Cleveland is an amazing city, and Real American Freestyle is channeling its rock and roll style into this first event,” Hogan said. ”The Wolstein Center is a great partner, and the perfect location for us to launch our season.
