Pension Recalculation Decisions in Romania: What You Need to Know
Not all pensioners in Romania have received pension recalculation decisions.
Labor Minister Simona Bucura-Oprescu recently shed light on the situation, explaining that:
“Our colleagues from the National Public Pension House have provided clarification on the matter. The key points are as follows:
- Approximately 170,000 decisions will be distributed to pensioners who are affected by the recalculation for objective reasons.
- These pensioners include those who have undergone successive reforms, such as those who requested a pension recalculation between June and July 2024. Others include those who received a court decision during the recalculation period or submitted their retirement file on August 31, 2024. In these cases, a decision must be issued based on law 263/2010, followed by a recalculation decision,” the Minister of Labor explained.
