Red Bull Racing team representative Christian Horner says Max Verstappen’s victory at the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was the best reward for the team.

Red Bull Racing retired at the end of the race with both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the opening round of the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. I was forced to work for a hard week to find and fix problems with the fuel system.

Max Verstappen overtakes Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) to win the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. In the second race, he finally scored 25 points on the point table and started defending the title with Red Bull Racing.

“It’s great to get points,” Christian Horner told the F1 Nation podcast.

“I think the team’s recovery was great after the difficulties in Bahrain last weekend.”

“The support we received from the factory throughout the week, the mechanics and engineers working on the car in difficult situations was truly first class.”

“In that race, Max won a great victory and rewarded them in the best possible way. It was a very competitive race between us and Ferrari. It was a really great margin.”

Charles Leclerc responded after Max Verstappen’s decisive overtake. Christian Horner admitted that watching the last few laps of the race wasn’t particularly fun.

“I was relieved to see the checkered flag. I wanted to see it about three laps ago!” Said Christian Hona.

Max Verstappen took over as Red Bull Racing’s leadman after an untimely safety car dropped Sergio Perez from the lead to fourth place, giving Charles Leclerc an advantage.

Sergio Perez, who won his first pole position on Saturday, did not hide his frustration, but Christian Horner also sympathizes with the race.

“It was really unlucky for (Czech Republic (Perez)),” said Christian Horner.

“He had a start and was in control of the race. Without the safety car intervention, he would have won the race, but they could be in the favor or the disadvantage.”

“It was a really competitive weekend for him and he was really unlucky.”

Asked if Sergio Perez was distraught or philosophical about the situation, Christian Horner explained that he remained calm.

“He was disappointed, but he was calm about it,” said Christian Horner.

“He understands that there was nothing we could do, and looking back over the weekend, his first ferocious pole position will give us a lot of confidence from this weekend.”

“It was frustrating for him because he was fast in the race and covered everyone, but I think he still got a lot from it.”
