Reed Smith Shortlisted for The British Legal Awards

Reed Smith has​ been shortlisted for The British Legal‌ Awards in the category of ‌Private Equity‍ Team of the Year. The firm’s nomination is based⁢ on its role as lead counsel for GlobalData Plc on its partnership ⁣with PE house Inflexion, under which Inflexion acquired a ‍40% ⁣stake in GlobalData’s healthcare​ division for £434 million, valuing the division at £1.1 billion.

The deal was complex and innovative, involving a carve-out of the healthcare ​business into a parallel corporate structure⁢ and the creation of a new management equity⁤ incentive ‌plan. Reed Smith’s team worked across multiple jurisdictions and⁤ disciplines to deliver a ⁢successful ‌outcome for GlobalData.

Additionally, ​Jessica Tagg, an associate in Reed Smith’s Pro⁣ Bono Team, has been shortlisted as a Rising Star at The British Legal Awards. Jessica coordinates the firm’s pro bono work across‍ Europe, the ⁢Middle East and Asia, and has established and supported international projects to end FGM, combat human trafficking, ⁤and end the⁣ death⁣ penalty.

Jessica has also represented individuals in their disability benefits appeals, and acted for children and their families in‍ immigration cases. Her nomination reflects‌ her leadership, dedication, passion and impact in advancing access to justice and human rights.

The winners ‍of The British Legal Awards will be announced on 27 November in ⁣London. The BLAs are‍ the premier legal awards in the region, representing the best of the best within the UK’s legal community.
