K-Cinema Touring: Exploring the World of Korean Film with Director Min Kyu-dong
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles invites acclaimed film director Min Kyu-dong for a three-day event at Chapman University, UC Irvine, and the Korean Cultural Center.
Discover the art of Korean filmmaking with Director Min Kyu-dong, known for his works “Whispering Corridors 2,” “All About My Wife,” and “Herstory.”
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles is proud to announce the “K-Cinema Touring” event, a unique opportunity for film students and enthusiasts to delve into the world of Korean cinema. This year, the event will feature renowned film director Min Kyu-dong, who will share his insights and experiences with film students at Chapman University and UC Irvine.
K-Cinema Touring was launched in 2015 to introduce the charm of Korean films to film students at major universities near Hollywood. The program aims to increase understanding and familiarity with Korean films, as well as provide a platform for film students to learn from veteran Korean film directors. Past participants have included acclaimed directors Ryu Seung-wan, Jung Joo-ri, Park Chan-wook, Hwang Dong-hyeok, and Bong Joon-ho.
This year’s event will feature screenings of Director Min Kyu-dong’s films, including “Nursing” (2021) at Chapman University and UC Irvine, followed by in-depth discussions on the Korean film production environment, storytelling techniques, and more. The event will culminate with a screening of “The Most Beautiful Goodbye in the World” (2011) at the Korean Cultural Center’s Ari Hall, where the audience will have the opportunity to engage with Director Min Kyu-dong.
