Team Factors visited the settlement of Bostarići in the municipality of Sarajevo in Stari Grad, after the Ministry of Civil Defense Cantonal KS issued an order for residents of this area to leave due to a landslide that was activated in this part of the municipality.

As this portal writes, none of the local people agree to the evacuation and do not want to leave their homes.

They say “they didn’t run away in the war, so they won’t run away now either.”

They draw attention to the fact that they do not want to go to collective accommodation and say that if the authorities provide them with adequate accommodation, they will agree. Four houses in this neighborhood are already in ruins, and the local people have been on duty every other month for almost a month and are sleeping in shifts.

They say they are scared, but they don’t want to go.

Tonight, the Mayor of Bostarići, Irfan Čengić, is also in Bostarići, who, as he says, came to calm the population after the evacuation order was announced.

He explained to them that nothing new had happened compared to the previous 15 days and there was no need to panic. He is angered by the move of Minister Bojan Bošnjak, who forwarded the order to the Municipality late in the afternoon.

“They sent the order on Friday at 4 pm and went home. When I contacted the Civil Defense Operations Centre, they told me that no one was there, that everyone had left.”said Čengić, emphasizing that the order could have been passed on Monday morning, and before that the situation had been explained to the people.

In this way, he said, panic has been created unnecessarily and people have become agitated.
