Regragui talks about Diaz’s first participation with the Moroccan national team against Angola

Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, spoke about Ibrahim Diaz’s first participation with the Atlas Lions in the friendly match against Angola at the Grand Agadir Stadium, which the Atlas Lions won 1/0 with an own goal.

Regragui said in statements to the media, “I think we achieved the most important thing, which is victory. We created several scoring chances in the first and second halves, and we controlled the ball and were able to put pressure on the opponent.”

The Moroccan coach added, “It is not easy to bring in players who are playing together for the first time and performing well. Great work awaits us in the coming period, and the most important thing is achieving victory to raise morale after returning from the African Cup.”

Regraki added regarding the duo of Ibrahim Diaz and Elias Ben Saghir, “The two players together performed at the highest level, and the most important thing is harmony with the group as a whole, and in the coming period we will work to raise the degree of harmony and find threads of communication for the benefit of the team.”

The Moroccan coach continued regarding the duo between Nayef Akrad and Abdelkabir Abqar, “Abkar, like the new players who participated, tried to give the best. The opponent did not score against us, and we will try to continue working with all the players to improve the performance.”

The Moroccan national team will face Mauritania in a friendly match on Tuesday, and the Moroccan national team will face its counterparts Zambia and Congo next June, in the fifth group of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.

The Atlantic Lions defeated Tanzania in the first round, in a group that also includes Zambia, Niger and Congo.
