Obituary for Thomas Frederick Stewart

Thomas Frederick Stewart, known as Tommy, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, in Midland, Georgia, after a brave fight with kidney disease. He dedicated his life to his family, sports, and a successful career that lasted many years.

Funeral Services

Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 3 PM in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home. Rev. Brett Maddocks will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will occur one hour before the service at McMullen Funeral Home, located at 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907.

About Tommy

Tommy was born in Columbus, Georgia. He was the loving son of the late Carolyn Stewart and a cherished member of a tight-knit family. He found his lifelong partner in Freda Stewart. Together, they enjoyed many beautiful moments and built a strong bond. They welcomed a daughter, Ellen McKelvey, and her husband Eric, as well as two grandchildren, Brinley and Cade. Family gatherings included his brothers-in-law, Tommy and Steve Richardson, with their spouses JoAnn and Kathy, and his mother-in-law, Betty Richardson.

Education and Career

Tommy attended Columbus State University, earning a degree in Business Administration. His work experience included store management, product distribution, and sales. He was known for his leadership, integrity, and mentorship.

Passions

Tommy loved sports. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and had a passion for all sports. He had many lively conversations and shared experiences with friends and family. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, whether at home or cheering for his grandchildren at their games.

Legacy

Tommy’s life demonstrated his strong values of hard work and family commitment. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We remember Tommy as a man who lived fully, formed meaningful relationships, and contributed to his community. His memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the light he brought to our lives.
