Rep. Cho Hae-jin Calls for Apology from President Yoon Seok-yeol and Resignation of Government: A Turning Point in Korean Politics

Rep. Cho Hae-jin, the People Power Party’s candidate for the Gimhae-eul general election in Gyeongsangnam-do and a third-term senior member of the party, publicly called for an apology from President Yoon Seok-yeol and the resignation of the entire government .

Representative Cho held a press conference today at the Communications Room of the National Assembly and said, “If this continues, it will be a crushing defeat for the people and the Republic of Korea will be ruined,” and said, “The President must apologize for letting people down and making them angry.’ I did.

Furthermore, “Apologize for showing lack of communication due to arrogance and hypocrisy, for being partisan in politics, for being exclusive in personnel matters, for causing confusion in national affairs and for showing helplessness,” he said, adding : “It’s time to start over.” He stressed: “Public sentiment will return, we will win the general elections and the remaining three years of government will be successful.”

Congressman Cho said, “The President’s office and the cabinet must resign en masse immediately to give the President a chance to reform state affairs,” and added, “It is our duty to serve the President, not to resign after lost the general election but to open the door to a turnaround now.”

He also asked party MPs: “If we do not get a majority in the National Assembly, all elected members will declare that they will resign from their positions at the beginning of the term of the 22nd National Assembly.”

Rep. Cho Hae-jin continued, “The Lee Jae-myung administration will be a more ferocious regime than the Moon Jae-in administration,” adding, “Finally, give the Yoon Seok-yeol administration a chance to work.” .
