According to the fire department, an evacuation announcement was carried out in the building around 10:39 a.m., and all 70 people inside were evacuated.
The Jongno Fire Station in Seoul installed a safety control line around the building, and firefighters and officials from the nearby Cheongjin Police Box and Jongno-gu Office were dispatched to the scene.
An official from the fire department said, “It is estimated that the cooling fan on the roof of the 21st floor failed and was caused by an imbalance in the building, and we are investigating the exact cause.”
