It was reported that Lee Seong-yoon, a researcher at the Legal Research and Training Institute, who had attended former Justice Minister Cho Kuk’s publication ceremony and had strongly criticized the so-called “Yoon Seok-yeol division”, was fired, the highest level of disciplinary action.

According to the legal community, the Prosecutor’s Disciplinary Commission of the Ministry of Justice met on the 27th of last month and decided to fire this researcher.

Dismissal is the highest level of disciplinary action under the Prosecutor Disciplinary Law, and if you are dismissed due to disciplinary action, you will not be able to become a lawyer for three years.

Researcher Lee was indicted for making comments that undermined the fairness of the prosecution or insulted or disparaged the prosecution on eight occasions last year during former minister Cho Kuk’s release ceremony and media interviews, and for violating the prosecutor’s code of ethics by interacting inappropriately with former minister Cho. A severe penalty was imposed last January.

Previously, researcher Lee Seong-yoon had complained about the unfairness of the disciplinary action, asking: “Have you manipulated stock prices?”

Researcher Lee said that when President Yoon Seok-yeol was attorney general, he double insulted him, calling him “rude,” and that disciplinary action was taken in connection with his statement that “Yoon Seok’s division -yeol is comparable to Chun Doo.” -hwan’s Hanahoe “means ‘the accusation as a whole.'” It’s a statement that equates it to Yoon Seok-yeol’s division,’ he rebutted.

We inform you that the grant holder intends to file an administrative lawsuit requesting the annulment of the disciplinary measure.

However, even in the event of dismissal, there are no restrictions on his political activity.

Researcher Lee submitted his resignation on January 8, joined the Democratic Party of Korea last month as a recruiter and is currently running in the Jeonju general election.
