Tudyk told reporters he enjoyed embodying the Mantid’s predatory essence. The new season of Resident Alien, premiering Friday on Syfy and USA Network, sees harry grappling with imprisonment on the moon, stripped of his abilities. Simultaneously occurring, the Mantid wreaks havoc, impersonating Harry in Patience, Colo.
The actor noted that this season allows Harry to evolve and become closer to Asta (Sara Tomko), D’arcy (Alice Wetterlund), and the other residents of Patience. Losing his alien energy forces Harry to confront his humanity, Tudyk said, leading him to appreciate the good qualities of humans.
Showrunner Chris Sheridan said a key element of each season is the gradual unveiling of Harry’s secret to more characters. He noted that revealing Harry’s true identity to D’arcy at the end of Season 2 added a new dynamic to the storytelling.
