Apple has recently introduced the new iMac, featuring the M4 chip, increased integrated memory capacity, updated color options, and a USB-C port for the input device. The design remains unchanged, but the upgrades bring significant improvements to the device’s performance and functionality.
Key Features and Specifications
The new iMac is powered by the M4 chip, which was first released with the iPad Pro this spring. This chip replaces the M3 installed in the 2023 iMac. Apple has also increased the basic integrated memory configuration from 8GB to 16GB.

Color Options and Accessories
All M4 iMac models are available in seven colors: blue, green, orange, pink, purple, silver, and yellow. Users can also choose a color-matched Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad for an additional $50.
Camera and Display Upgrades
The new iMac features a 120,000-pixel Center Stage camera that supports Desk View and 1080p HD video recording. The display remains the same 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, supporting 500 nits brightness, P3 color gamut, and True Tone. Additionally, nano-texture glass is available as a $200 option, providing a matte finish instead of the standard glossy glass.
Availability and Shipping
The M4 iMac is currently available for pre-order in the U.S., with shipping starting November 8. The domestic release date will be announced later.
