Revolut Launches AIR AI Assistant for Daily Financial Tasks

Revolut launched an artificial intelligence-powered personal assistant called AIR to its application in the United Kingdom on April 9, 2026. The tool, short for AI by Revolut, is designed to provide users with tailored financial insights and the ability to manage daily banking tasks through a conversational interface.

The company is rolling out the assistant gradually to its UK customer base first, with plans to launch the service in additional countries in the future.

Conversational Financial Management

AIR allows users to interact with their financial data using natural language queries and commands. The assistant can answer specific questions regarding investing, budgeting, and spending habits to provide a holistic view of a user’s money.

Beyond providing information, the AI assistant is integrated into the Revolut ecosystem to perform functional tasks. Capabilities include pausing recurring payments, providing live exchange rates, and managing card controls such as setting spending limits or freezing a card.

Security and Data Privacy Protocols

Revolut has implemented specific security measures to govern how AIR interacts with sensitive user information. The company stated that AIR only accesses data that the user is already permitted to see, including cards, investments, and transactions.

To prevent unauthorized account changes, AIR cannot execute sensitive actions without the user providing biometric approval. Revolut stated that personal user data is not used for training purposes and is never stored by third-party AI partners.

Business Performance and Market Context

The introduction of AIR follows a period of significant financial growth for Revolut. According to a report from PYMNTS, the company reported approximately $2.3 billion in profit on $6 billion in revenue. This growth has been primarily driven by payments activity and subscriptions.

The move toward conversational AI aligns with broader consumer trends in the financial sector. A PYMNTS Intelligence report titled Beyond the Try: Native AI Platforms Begin Replacing Legacy Paths to Shopping Discovery indicates that conversational AI is increasingly displacing traditional methods of performing tasks.

Data from that report, as of December, showed varying levels of AI reliance among different user groups:

• 48.5% of AI power users stated that conversational AI has mostly or fully replaced traditional methods.
• 33.1% of mainstream users reported the same replacement of traditional methods.
• 31.8% of light users indicated that conversational AI has mostly or fully replaced traditional task performance.
