CONCEPT: Simple configuration even with high performance!
Talking about DeepCool’s high-end air cooling, ASSASSIN Ⅲ, which was released in 2019 and is still considered the most powerful, is well known. In 2023, this ASSASSIN has evolved into ASSASSIN IV.
ASSASSIN IV features major improvements in layout and fan design compared to the previous generation III, resulting in a significantly different appearance. Also, in terms of coloring, the III had a silver heatsink and a black fan, but the IV has a unified black color including the heatsink. A metal shroud is attached to the top of the fan to create a clean box shape.

There is also a great feature in the fan layout. The ASSASSIN IV’s fan has an unusual layout, with a fan between the dual tower heatsinks and a fan on the rear VRM side instead of the memory slot side. Since the fan does not cover the memory slot, it will not interfere even if memory with a large heat sink is inserted. This is a great advantage for those who want to build their own good-looking PC.
The size of the fan is 14cm diameter in the center and 12cm square at the back. It looks like the rear fan is blowing air towards the front, but it actually works like a fan that sucks air away from the heatsink. This allows airflow through the fins to flow directly to the case fans at the back without weakening or spreading. Additionally, using the included bracket, you can add another fan to the side of the front memory slot to create a triple-fan setup.

The number of heat pipes has a diameter of 6mm x 7, which is higher than that of competing products, and the supported TDP is said to be 280W, making stable cooling possible even for high-end CPUs that generate large amount of heat.

It is less troublesome than the common method of attaching the fan using clips. There is a switch on the top of the refrigerator that allows you to change the fan speed to prioritize cooling performance or quietness.

The front and rear fans have different diameters and blade orientations.

The previous model came with two 14cm diameter fans, but this model has a combination of different diameters: a 14cm diameter fan and a 12cm square fan. The fan is a fluid bearing. The 14cm diameter fan is installed in the center of the dual tower heatsink, while the 12cm square fan is installed at the rear of the heatsink. The center fan has a tool-free construction that allows it to be pulled out by pressing the left and right knobs. Equipped with a fan rotation speed switch that prevents you from hurting your fingers due to the heat sink, which is common when installing a fan. In Performance mode, the fan speed reaches up to 1,700 rpm and in Quiet mode up to 1,350 rpm.
Clearance: Without front fan, no interference with memory
Interference with peripheral parts, common with large CPU coolers, is minimized. In particular, the structure does not include a fan that covers the memory, so it will hardly interfere with the memory. In addition, the box-like structure has no protrusions on the sides, so even if you install a video card with a backplate, there will be no interference. There is no interference since there is no fan installed on the side of the memory slot. However, this does not apply when adding additional fans using the included attachment. Depending on the height of the memory, the width that requires adjusting the fan installation position is about the same as other CPU coolers equipped with 14cm diameter fans. Since there are no protrusions, the back of this product protrudes noticeably above the motherboard’s VRM heat sink, which does not interfere with using a backplate video card. In addition to the dedicated driver, there is also a bracket for adding additional fans, which allows you to easily add additional 12cm square fans.
For Intel LGA115x/1200/1700 a metal backplate is included. For AMD AM4/AM5, connect the pin to the original back plate. There are only two types of mounting plates for Intel LGA115x/1200/1700 that can be covered with the same pin: Intel and AMD. If you look at the markings on the plate, you will not be able to distinguish the wrong orientation. The plate is secured with a cap nut and the screws are already installed on the retaining plate. Place the main unit with the center fan removed and tighten the retaining plate screws through the gap to secure it.
