Mingaku and Sapporo International University Collaborate on Generative AI in Education

Joint Research Aims to Enhance Teacher Literacy and Moral Education

Mingaku Co., Ltd., a leading education technology company, has partnered with Sapporo International University’s Yasui Laboratory to conduct joint research on the application of generative AI in educational settings.

Research Objectives

The research will focus on two primary projects:

• Development of Training Packages for Teachers: Utilizing Mingaku’s “School AI” platform, the research aims to create training packages that enhance teachers’ literacy and skills in using generative AI technology. This will enable teachers to effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices and support individualized student learning.
• Research and Development of Generated AI Content for Moral Education: In collaboration with Associate Professor Masaki Yasui, an expert in moral education, the research will focus on developing new moral education content using generative AI. The goal is to provide customized content that caters to the developmental stages of students, ultimately improving the quality and effectiveness of moral education.

Background and Purpose

The rapid evolution of AI technology is transforming the education sector. Generative AI, in particular, has the potential to offer personalized learning experiences tailored to individual students’ needs. However, teachers require sufficient literacy and skills to effectively utilize this technology.

In moral education, there is a growing need for flexible teaching materials that accommodate students’ growth stages. Against this backdrop, Mingaku Co., Ltd. and Sapporo International University’s Yasui Laboratory have initiated joint research to explore the potential of generative AI in educational settings.

Future Plans

Based on the research findings, Mingaku plans to provide training packages and moral education content that leverage generative AI to educational institutions and schools. The integration of generative AI is expected to enhance the quality of lessons and realize individually optimized learning experiences.
