(Muan=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Seung-hyeon = The Jeonnam Human Resources Development Institute announced on the 20th that it will reorganize the basic training curriculum to focus on policy fields in order to increase the job efficiency of newly hired civil servants.
The basic training for new public officials, which was operated as a three-week group training course, will be changed to cyber training (1 week) and group training (2 weeks). Group training is operated as a field-centered education program, including field trips to policy sites.
To this end, the Human Resources Development Institute of the province reached an agreement on the division of education costs between cities and counties through collecting opinions from cities and counties and holding meetings with education department heads (section chief level) in July and August.
In addition, we signed a business agreement with the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation and Kumho Express regarding the development of field study programs.
We plan to establish a ‘Population Forum’ to raise awareness of population issues and provide time for newly hired civil servants to seek advice from experts and consider ways to overcome the low birth rate.
Former South Jeolla Province Human Resources Development Institute Director Yoon Yeon-hwa said, “It is urgent to establish a field-centered civil servant training foundation that meets the needs of the local community,” and added, “We will establish a foundation for a sustainable education system by introducing post-employment programs such as public service adaptation training.”
