Gulf University launched the first edition of the International Congress for Innovation and Advanced Technology “ICIAT – 2024”. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Mona Al-Zayani, confirmed that the university has worked to improve Bahrain’s role in the global innovation map and that it seeks to promote sustainable development and the knowledge economy. He said that the Congress is an important turning point in the path of developing the fields of technology and innovation in the region, which contributes to building a brighter future for future generations. Al-Zayani explained that this event reflects the Gulf University’s commitment to promoting scientific research and technological development, noting the importance of digital transformation and innovation in achieving the university’s goals. He added, “We have provided a platform that brings scientists and professionals together to exchange ideas, which contributes to the development of society, and the Congress has achieved the impetus of innovation and global cooperation in advanced technology.” For his part, the President of the University, Professor Muhannad Al-Mashhadani, noted that the Congress provides an international platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and technical solutions, which support digital transformation and sustainable development. He expressed the university’s happiness with this achievement, emphasizing that the Congress is a means to improve cooperation between universities, research institutions and technology companies to create a future based on innovation and knowledge. As the Chairman of the Scientific Research Council at the University, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikhly said that the Congress represents an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge in the fields of innovation and technology. He added that international cooperation is the key to achieving sustainable scientific and technological progress, and that the university seeks to strengthen academic and research relations between institutions. in the world. The Congress included a number of conferences covering the fields of science, engineering, digital media, artificial intelligence, digital law, and sustainable innovation, with a particular focus on how to integrate technological innovations with environmental initiatives to achieve sustainable development goals, in accordance with Bahrain Vision. 2030. Congress is in line with the development goals The sustainable development that the University of the Gulf seeks to achieve, as it serves a set of goals, including quality education, by supporting scientific research and workshops, and decent work and economic growth, supporting the knowledge economy. This year, the university also launched the Digital Advertising and Marketing Programme, in collaboration with the University of Northampton in the United Kingdom, and graduates of this program are awarded a certificate accredited by the United Kingdom.
