Rihanna Home Shooting Suspect Loses Child Custody After Violent Attack on Star’s Residence

The woman accused of opening fire on the Los Angeles residence of superstar Rihanna has been stripped of child custody following the violent incident last month.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a Florida resident, will have zero contact with her child unless specifically authorized by the child’s father, who was granted full legal custody by a court order this week.

The ruling comes as Ortiz faces a litany of serious criminal charges related to the shooting at Rihanna’s mansion. The singer was reportedly inside the home with her partner, A$AP Rocky, their three children, her mother and two staff members when the attack occurred.

Despite multiple rounds being fired at the property, law enforcement officials confirmed that no one was injured during the afternoon assault. Ortiz was charged with 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle.

Prosecutors alleged that she not only targeted Rihanna’s home but also fired shots at a neighboring residence. Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in custody. “Opening fire in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk and will be fully prosecuted,” said Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman.

Hochman noted that the 10 counts of assault represent the eight people inside Rihanna’s home and two additional individuals at the neighboring property. Investigators revealed that Ortiz is a licensed speech pathologist who had reportedly posted a series of social media videos focused on Rihanna in the months prior to the shooting.

Her background reportedly includes a history of domestic violence allegations and a previous involuntary psychiatric hold, though Ortiz has claimed those past incidents were based on falsehoods.

The court’s decision to remove Ortiz’s parental rights follows a standard review of child safety in the wake of violent felony charges. Under the current order, the father of the child maintains sole custody, and any future visitation for Ortiz would require a significant shift in her legal and mental health status. “Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our community,” Hochman said. “Such shooters will find their next destination to be our jails and prisons.”

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have not publicly commented on the custody ruling.
