Former Fuji TV freelance announcer Rio Hirai (41) updated her Instagram on the 2nd. She revealed that she visited the UK this summer and reunited with former TV Tokyo freelance announcer Reina Akimoto (39), who lives in London.

Hirai, who had revealed that she had watched the Paris Olympics in person this summer, wrote, “Before Paris, I also stayed in London and got to meet Akimoto Rena-chan, a mom friend from when my child was in kindergarten!” and uploaded a photo of herself and Akimoto.

“As cheerful and cute as ever, chatting happily with the kids as they play in the playground (but with keen eyes so they can rush to their aid at any time). She’s doing the same things in Tokyo and London,” she wrote.

Akimoto also updated her Instagram, posting a photo of the two of them.

“A little while ago, Rio came to London! I had the opportunity to greet my idol Rio at sporting events like the Olympics when I was a station announcer, but it was only after I became a mother that I was able to talk to her properly. I am grateful to be able to interact with her in this way through my child, regardless of work. I look forward to seeing her again!” she wrote.

Hirai’s post has received positive feedback from her followers, with comments such as, “They both look great,” and “They’re so pretty.”
