Srđan Srdić, an independent councilor in the Novo Sarajevo municipal council and a city councilor, believes that it is necessary to constant police presence should be ensured at subsequent sessions, in order to avoid incidents and threats.
Asked what was the reason for the crowding, he said that it was a minor incident, something that is everyday and usual at this municipal council.
– Given that there are councilors who speak freely and loudly and replicate and say what we think. Colleague Salihagić, outraged by my correction of a false allegation, came to me during a break and addressed me with a few derogatory words, I entered the discussion and returned it to him.
– The man got in my face, I got in his face, adds Srdić and emphasizes that he does not want to experience this kind of pressure in the council anymore, and he requested police protection.
On the other side Nedim Salihović, councilor clarifies that this is not a conflict or incident. Rather, it is an activity that has become frequent at the council and should stop being part of this folklore.

In his next social media post, Salihagić apologized to citizens for witnessing such unpleasant scenes and announced the filing of a criminal complaint against councilor Srđan Srdić.
