Rising Above the Storms: Vietnamese Community in Japan Unites to Support Flood-Hit Compatriots

Overseas Vietnamese ​Community Rallies to Support Flood Relief Efforts

The Vietnamese community ​in Japan has come ⁤together to provide support to those affected by recent natural disasters in Vietnam. This is one‍ of the first​ supports sent ‌by overseas Vietnamese through the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to join hands with compatriots in ⁣the country ‍to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Donations and Fundraising Efforts

The Kansai Vietnamese Women’s Association and Cay Tre⁢ Vietnamese Language School have donated 1 ton of rice to support those in need. Mr. Vu Hoang Duc, Chairman ⁣of the Vietnam – Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association, coordinated with the Vietnamese Consulate​ General ⁢in ⁣Osaka to send ⁤a donation‍ from the Association’s Executive Committee.

The Vietnam Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) has launched a ‍fundraising campaign to support ⁣people ⁣affected by storms and ‌floods. On September 15, FAVIJA will organize two community football tournaments ⁤in the ⁢Chubu region (Shizuoka province) and​ the Kyushu region (Fukuoka province), with charity donation boxes on the main‌ stage to support people affected by natural disasters in ​Vietnam. Each member of FAVIJA across ‌Japan ⁢has donated at least 1,000 Japanese yen.

Upcoming Relief Efforts

From September 19-21, 2024, the FAVIJA ​delegation will​ return to Vietnam to directly provide support to‌ some people in difficulty affected ‍by ​typhoon Yagi. Mr.⁢ Nguyen Hong​ Son, President of the Federation of Vietnamese Associations in Japan, ‌expressed his gratitude for the immediate ⁢response from associations, businesses, and individuals in Japan.

Mr. Son affirmed that the Federation of Vietnamese⁢ Associations in Japan will continue the campaign⁢ to call for long-term support for localities in the affected areas. With the spirit of mutual love and support, ⁤the Federation hopes to make a ‌meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by the storm and flood.

A Message of Hope and Support

Mr.‌ Nguyen Hong Son hopes ⁢that with the cooperation of businesses, entrepreneurs,⁤ and the entire Vietnamese community in Japan, those affected by the storm and flood‌ will feel ‌warmer and⁤ quickly overcome hardship and pain to return to normal life. These​ first meaningful actions demonstrate the strong bond‌ between the Vietnamese community in ‍Japan and those in need ​back home.
