As spring approaches, wild bears appear everywhere in Japan, resulting in casualties.

Recently, a shocking video was released showing a mother bear with her cub attacking a car.

The Japanese government has begun preparing countermeasures.

Reporter Hyun Young-jun reports from Tokyo.

A small truck driving on a mountain path in Hokkaido, Japan, brakes suddenly after seeing a bear at the bottom of a hill.

The bear, which seemed angry, ran at full speed and charged into the truck, cutting the windshield wiper like a wooden chopstick.

The lorry’s windscreen was smashed by the bear’s powerful front paw attacks again and again, and the terrified driver barely managed to escape, honking his horn.

“I’m going after you! It’s so crazy!”

Later, when I looked at the black box video, I discovered that the mother bear attacked the truck because of her cub.

A few days ago, a man in his 50s who was sightseeing in Hokkaido was attacked by two bears near a mountain waterfall.

The victim, who practiced karate, survived after fighting off the bear.

“I felt that the bear was going to fly this way, so I immediately kicked and accidentally hit the bear’s head.”

Two days ago, a woman in her 50s who was hiking in Ishikawa Prefecture suffered a head injury after being attacked by a bear and was taken to hospital.

The Japanese government added bears as designated management assistants and began preparing countermeasures.

“We will ensure the safety and security of the people by trying to prevent damage caused by a pack of bears.”

Experts analyzed that the number of bears is increasing because this winter was so warm that bears did not hibernate, or because nuts, such as acorns, which are the bears’ main food, are scarce.
