On September 23, 2024, reporters reported that late yesterday evening, flash floods occurred in Mae Ram Creek, Chiang Mai province. The mass of water flooded the area, overflowing the banks and catching villagers off guard. The water flowed down the mountain from Tat Mok waterfall, a water village in Huai Mae Ram, in under an hour.
A Facebook user, Natcha Prayfa, revealed the incident, showing the flash floods flowing along the Mae Ram stream in Ban Sai Mun area of Mae Rim district. The water eroded the river bank, reached the houses of the people who built along the bank, and created a whirlpool, causing a house to collapse into the Mae Ram river.
