Saudi⁣ Arabia ⁣Offers Malaysia Help with Riyadh Expo 2030

Malaysia has received an ​offer‍ from Saudi Arabia to assist in organizing the Riyadh Expo 2030,⁤ according to Deputy⁤ Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah yusof. The offer was conveyed ​by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador ⁢to Japan, dr. Ghazi Faisal​ Binzagr,during a visit to the Saudi Arabia pavilion at Expo ‍2025 ⁢Osaka.

Fadillah characterized this as a critically important opportunity for Malaysia‍ to strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia and elevate its global presence. he said he intends to discuss potential areas of collaboration with ​the Cabinet.

The announcement followed a dinner with the Malaysian diaspora and students in Osaka. Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Deputy Investment, ‌Trade ⁤and‍ Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong,⁤ and​ Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan also attended, along with​ Malaysian Ambassador to ⁣Japan ⁢Datuk Shahril Effendi Abd ‌Ghany.

Malaysia ⁢has been invited to participate in preparatory work, including technical and infrastructure aspects. Shahril Effendi is expected to ​hold discussions with​ Binzagr soon to explore these opportunities further. Fadillah, who is in Osaka to ‍inaugurate the Malaysia Pavilion at expo 2025, emphasized the importance of long-term strategic partnerships between Malaysia and Japan, ‍especially in areas of ⁢sustainability, innovation, and regional‌ integration.

Malaysia’s participation in the expo aligns with its role as Chair of ASEAN, positioning the ‍Malaysia Pavilion ⁢as a central hub for regional engagement throughout the six-month event. This visit underscores Malaysia’s ​dedication to ​fostering mutually beneficial relationships with Japan and the broader global community, especially in sectors ​promoting resilience, ‌innovation, ⁣and shared prosperity.
