RJD and LJD Merge: Tejashwi Yadav and MV Shreyams Kumar Lead the Alliance
Kozhikode: In a historic move, the LJD has merged with the RJD, with Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD O leader, handing over the party flag to MV Shreyams Kumar. MV Shreyams Kumar, the President of RJD in Kerala, has been chosen to lead the newly-formed alliance.
In a statement, MV Shreyams Kumar expressed that the decision to merge with RJD was made after careful consideration. He emphasized that the unification of socialists has always been the fervent desire of every party member. Shreyams Kumar asserted that the merger with RJD marks a significant step towards achieving that objective.
This decision was not taken lightly, as the past bitter experiences had to be taken into account. It was determined that merging with RJD, a party that has never compromised with communal forces, was the best way forward. Shreyams Kumar proudly stated that the decision received unanimous support from all party members, without any dissent.
Shreyams Kumar also highlighted the contrast between the BJP and other governments. He claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has become closely associated with the BJP and accused them of using it for their political gain. He expressed his belief that being part of a party that consistently upholds secularism is crucial, given the current threats to democracy and the justice system in India. Shreyams Kumar stressed the importance of maintaining harmony within the party and stated, “I will always remain a socialist.”
Tejashwi Yadav expressed his delight in witnessing the union of two socialist parties and emphasized that this merger would lead to the convergence of socialist movements. He stated that the RJD-JD(U) alliance is prepared to stand up against the BJP’s opposition across the country.
Regarding the recent removal of the BJP government in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav conveyed his belief that it has given hope and strength to the democratic forces. He also expressed his anticipation that the caste census will bring about significant political and social changes on a national level.

The decision was taken after taking time to avoid the bitter experiences of the past. That is how it was decided to merge with RJD which was never ready to compromise with the communal forces. He added that the decision was unanimously supported by all the workers of the party and that there was no murmur.
