Roaring into the Spotlight: Could Edimo Sportwear Be the Lions’ Next Big Kit Partner
Fecafoot Launches Call for Applications to Recruit New Equipment Supplier
Fecafoot has initiated a call for applications to recruit a new equipment supplier for the national football teams.
Companies interested in sponsoring the various national football teams have until September 30 to submit their application, as announced in a press release on September 19.
The press release states that once the files are received, they will be analyzed and evaluated by Fecafoot’s internal procurement committee. The equipment manufacturer with the best score will be selected as the official supplier of the national teams.
Termination of Contract with One All Sports
The need for this quick process stems from the termination of the contract with One All Sports, announced on August 6, due to non-compliance with contractual obligations on the part of the American equipment manufacturer.
Possible Candidates for the Prestigious Position
Rumors are already rife about possible candidates for this prestigious position. Edimo Sportwear emerges as a possible choice. Arol Kech, an informed observer of Cameroon football, notes that although there are high expectations for big brands, it is not excluded that this company will eventually be designated as the Indomitable Lions equipment supplier.
Concerns Surrounding Edimo Sportwear
The context surrounding the emergence of Edimo Sportwear is troubling. Indeed, when One All Sports was appointed equipment supplier, a distributor called Edimo Design appeared following a controversial call for tenders. This distributor then evolved into a sports equipment manufacturer, changed its name to Edimo Sportwear, and is said to have undertaken a targeted communication strategy, involving Cameroonian athletes during the Olympics to strengthen its brand image.
Sources indicate that a discreet campaign aimed at legitimizing Edimo Sportwear would have been set up by entities close to Fecafoot. This company is starting to stand out as the official partner of the federation.
