Robbie Williams, Tony Iommi team up on ‘Rocket’
Robbie Williams has released a behind-the-scenes video of his “Rocket” shoot, featuring a clip of him discussing the collaboration with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.
Williams is preparing to release “BRITPOP,” his first studio album in almost a decade, this autumn. The album is previewed by the single “Rocket,” which features Iommi on guitar. iommi also appears in the music video.

In the behind-the-scenes clip, Williams explains how the collaboration came about. He said his drummer, Karl Brazil, is friends with Iommi and suggested he add some “poke” to the track “Rocket.”
Iommi said he liked the song. He also agreed to sell Williams his signature Gibson SG guitar from the shoot.
Iommi has also discussed the collaboration on social media, calling it an honor to be featured on williams’ new single. He also said it was a pleasure to appear in the music video.
Williams had previously teased the collaboration, saying the track features “massive guitars.” He also said that while the track was more rock-influenced, “pop songs turned up along the way” while he was working on the album.
NME caught up with Williams last month when he received the Icon Award at the Ivors 2025.Asked about collaborating with Iommi, Williams said he felt lucky and blessed that Iommi agreed to be on the track.
williams said he set out to create the album he wanted to write after leaving Take that in 1995. He said the album is raw, with more guitars, and is more upbeat and anthemic than usual.
The album’s cover artwork nods to Williams’ iconic red tracksuit worn to Glastonbury Festival in 1995 when he partied with Oasis. Williams is also going on tour at the same time as the Gallagher brothers’ return.
williams told NME that if hedonism is Jaffa Cake-based or Cadbury’s Fruit And Nut,then he’s in. He also said he wanted to do something that he likes, without second-guessing himself.
Williams has debuted “Rocket” at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh to kick off his stadium tour. He is continuing the ‘BRITPOP’ UK tour over the coming weeks.
Iommi is preparing for Black Sabbath’s final show next month at Villa Park in birmingham on July 5. The concert will raise funds for three charities: Cure Parkinson’s, birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Birmingham-based Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Iommi and Sharon Osbourne teased what to expect from Sabbath’s final concert, while also providing an update on Ozzy Osbourne’s health.Sharon said that Ozzy is great and that Parkinson’s doesn’t affect his voice. Iommi added that the show will do him good.
Osbourne previously stated that he would only be playing “little bits and pieces” with Black Sabbath at the final reunion gig. he has since returned to the gym in order to prepare for the performance.
