An accident occurred when a rock fell on a tourist bus traveling on a road around Ulleungdo Island in Gyeongsangbuk-do, destroying the ceiling.

According to Ulleung-gun and others, on the 6th, at around 12:50 pm, a stone with a diameter of 50 cm fell into the ceiling vent of a bus near Samseonam on Ulleungdo Road. When the vent was opened, a stone fell onto the bus, injuring three female tourists in their 60s, who were treated and released from Ulleung-gun Medical and Health Center.

An official in Ulleung-gun said: “We monitor the situation in real time through CCTV and take control when the waves are strong, but today it was not at that level, so no special measures were taken.”

Ulleung-gun believes the rockfall accident occurred due to rain and strong winds the previous day, and the exact circumstances are being investigated.

Meanwhile, approximately 52 mm of rain fell in Ulleung-gun between the previous day and this afternoon. A high wind warning is in force from 7.50pm on this day.
