Hezbollah Fires Rockets at Israeli Military Base in Northern Israel
A military base near Safed in northern Israel was hit, causing casualties and material damage, according to Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath sources.
The Amiad military base was targeted after warnings of infiltrators marching and several missiles fired from southern Lebanon, resulting in an explosion.
Hezbollah announced that it fired a “volley of Katyusha rockets” at a command headquarters attached to the northern region in response to the Kafargoz attack, as stated on the Telegram application.
Israeli Army Reports 20 Shells Fired from Lebanon
The Israeli army stated that “about 20 shells entered Israeli territory from Lebanon” around the town of Safed, where the Northern Command Center is located.
Most of the shells were successfully intercepted, while the rest fell in open areas, with no reports of casualties, but teams worked to put out the fire caused by falling shells.
A power outage occurred in Safed and the Upper Galilee town of Berea after a missile salvo was fired from Lebanon, as confirmed by Israeli media.
A large fire was reported in the Berea forest after a large wave of missiles were launched from Lebanon, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Mutual Bombing Continues Along the Lebanese-Israeli Border
Hezbollah and Israel have engaged in daily bombing along the Lebanese-Israeli border since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip on October 7.
Hezbollah has mainly targeted Israeli military sites, launching attacks from southern Lebanon in support of Gaza and its resistance, while Israel has responded by targeting its fighters and what it described as “military structures“ belonging to the group.
Hezbollah announced that it had launched a series of attacks, including “swarms of attack aircraft,” on military sites in northern Israel on Thursday.
At least 622 people have been killed in Lebanon, most of them Hezbollah fighters, and at least 142 civilians, according to an Agence France-Presse count based on official statements from Hezbollah and other groups and bodies.
On the Israeli side and in the occupied Syrian Golan, authorities announced the killing of 24 soldiers and 26 civilians.
