DENVER — The Colorado Rockies suffered another painful loss Tuesday night, falling to the San Francisco Giants 6-5 after relinquishing a 5-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning. A crowd of 24,553 at Coors Field, many of whom were Giants fans, witnessed the collapse.
The Rockies’ bullpen, previously solid, faltered in the final frame. Closer Zach Agnos struggled with his command, walking three and allowing a home run to Casey Schmitt. Victor Vodnik entered to clean up the mess but surrendered a sacrifice fly and a two-out single to Mike Yastrzemski, sealing the Giants’ comeback.
