Rome Launches Jubilee Year for San Gabriele Arcangelo Parish

Rome‘s San Gabriele Arcangelo parish begins its jubilee year today, January 11th, marking 70 years since its founding. Cardinal Baldo Reina will preside over a special Mass at 7 p.m. to open the year-long party.
The parish,located in the Cortina d’Ampezzo neighborhood,will host a series of events throughout 2026,including a conference with Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi. The jubilee year will conclude on January 10, 2027, with a Mass led by Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo, Archbishop of Kinshasa.
Pope Leo XIV blessed an icon of Saint Gabriel Archangel during Wednesday’s general audience in Paul VI Hall. The icon will be installed in the church during the jubilee. This year is significant for the parish as it also marks the 40th anniversary of the church’s consecration.
